Our History

Founded in 2016, Hard as a Rock began as a West Texas focused concrete operation and has grown into a full-service concrete subcontractor. With each project, our capabilities have expanded along with the size, complexity, and responsibility of the work entrusted to us.

Our Mantra

Around here, we have a saying: “Slow feet don’t eat.” To us, that means showing up prepared, moving with purpose, and taking ownership of the work in front of us. It means planning ahead, staying productive, and refusing to let avoidable delays control the job.

Built to lead

Jimmy Vela

Jimmy is a third-generation concrete contractor from Clovis, New Mexico. Being an owner-operator, he leads from the front, sets the pace in the field, and puts forth a first-or-last mentality. He takes pride in the product that HRC produces and has the work ethic to consistently output top-tier-quality results.

Jadeyn Vela

Jadeyn is a fourth-generation concrete contractor and a Texas Tech University alumnus who studied Civil Engineering. Having begun his career in the field, he brings hands-on experience to his role overseeing HRC’s operations and estimating. He has made it his mission to continually improve the company and build a stronger foundation for its growth.
